Upfront: OPE goes mobile

By Steve Noe

In our never-ending quest to remain at the forefront of today’s constantly evolving technology, OPE recently launched a mobile Web site.

If you own a cell phone — or any other mobile handheld device — which offers Internet access, you can now keep up with all of the OPE industry’s breaking news, anywhere, anytime, in a reader-friendly format by visiting www.outdoorpowerequipment.com/mobile3. The mobile site offers the latest feature stories, daily news, product news, personnel news and press releases.

If you are not currently taking advantage of all of our other cutting-edge online offerings at www.outdoorpowerequipment.com, I highly encourage you to do so.

Through our highly interactive Web site, you can click on the “E-Newsletters” section and sign up for OPExtra, our free e-mail newsletter that is sent every other Wednesday. In our new “E-Newsletter Archives” section, you can also view all past editions of OPExtra.

You can also view digital issues of OPE, which are page-for-page replicas of the print editions, as well as sign up to receive a digital subscription to OPE by paying a quick visit to the “Digital Archives.”

If you would like to seek free advice from an industry expert, you can also submit a question via the recently introduced “Ask the Expert” feature. The current industry expert is Jeremy Parsons, product manager for Stens.

If you misplaced your 2010 Power Source directory or don’t have it handy and need to quickly and easily locate the contact information for a manufacturer or distributor, you can log on to our new “Equipment Mart” at www.equipmentmartonline.com.

I hope you’ll take the time to take surf our standard and mobile Web sites and be a frequent visitor to both. We have many more exciting online offerings coming soon, so stay tuned…
