DR Power Equipment manufacturer once again among best places to work in Vermont
For the third time since 2007, Country Home Products — the Vergennes, Vt.-based manufacturer and marketer of DR Power Equipment — has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont 2012. Established in 2007, this annual program was created by Vermont Business Magazine, the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce, the Vermont Department of Labor, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) -Vermont State Council, the Vermont Department of Economic Development, and Best Companies Group.
The Best Places to Work in Vermont survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the top employers in Vermont, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The list is made up of small/medium-sized companies (15-199 employees) and large-sized companies (more than 200 employees). Country Home Products, which manufactures and markets more than 50 models of DR Power Equipment, has been named one of this year’s Best Places to Work in Vermont in the large company category.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity
Be a publicly or privately held business
Have a facility in Vermont
Must be in business a minimum of 1 year
Have at least 15 employees in Vermont
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Vermont. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
The Best Places to Work in Vermont 2012 list is made up of 22 companies. In 2011, Country Home Products was named #4. This year’s final rankings will be announced at the awards ceremony in late March/early April.
Joe Perrotto, CEO, Country Home Products, attributes some of the enthusiasm to the exciting new emphasis on product development. 2011 saw the launch of several new categories of DR Power Equipment, including all-new log splitters. 2012 will be one of the busiest years in DR Power Equipment’s 27-year history, with multiple new product launches, including the DR Lawn Aerator.
