Toro unveils new equipment
Toro introduced new products across a range of markets during the Equip Expo event in October. Here is a highlight of new Toro equipment.
Dingo
The Dingo TX 1000 Turbo builds off the proven success and strongest-in-class performance of the original Dingo TX 1000 with a turbo charged Yanmar diesel engine and the new patent pending Smart Power feature to maximize engine, auxiliary, and traction torque.
We see an opportunity to grow into markets that need indoor work,” said Megan Stepaniak, general manager of Toro’s Siteworks Division. “We’re committed to the landscape market, and excited about the new markets for indoor construction, to help make labor more efficient.”
The 24.7 hp Yanmar diesel engine is engineered with a focus on performance and delivers up to 4.1 mph ground speeds in both forward and reverse. The machine features a single diesel fuel tank (10.25 gallons) on the operator’s left-hand side and the hydraulic oil reservoir on the operator’s right-hand side for improved serviceability.
We spoke with Toro’s Sam Dando about the Dingo present and future for our OPE People podcast.
Toro said the new turbo diesel engine delivers increased torque to boost productivity when using popular attachments like the trencher and auger. Toro engineers integrated the proven track system from the larger more powerful TX 1300 for improved track life and reliability. Available in both narrow and wide track models, with the narrow track model weighing 2,826 lbs. and featuring a standard track with “B” style tread. The wide-track version is 2,911 lbs.
Leaf Blower
Toro is launching the most powerful residential handheld, battery-powered leaf blower on the market. The Toro 60V MAX 900 CFM Brushless Leaf Blower was designed in collaboration with a jet engine design consultant to put unparalleled power in your hand with nearly 50% more cubic feet per minute (CFM) than previous Toro leaf blowers.
The new battery-powered 60V MAX 900 CFM Brushless Leaf Blower also features patent-pending noise reduction and all-season technologies, improving sound quality for year-round clearing tasks. Powered by Toro’s Flex-Force® batteries, the blower is a dynamic addition to Toro’s collection of more than 75 tools, mowers and snow blowers with interchangeable and reliable battery power. Homeowners can seamlessly swap batteries to switch between tools and tasks for unbeatable all-season solutions.
Haven robotic mower
Toro showed its Haven robotic mower at Equip Expo, calling it the industry’s first autonomous residential mower that eliminates in-ground boundary wires in favor of a vision-based navigation system. The manufacturer said this innovative technology allows the mower to create 3D maps of the landscape, ensuring precise mowing without the need for GPS or Wi-Fi.
Toro first launched its robotic mower in May 2022 and it said then the product would be available in 2023. Today, several manufacturers have robotic mowers that do not require boundary wires. Toro will release two Haven models to the market and it says both will launch in spring 2025. The smaller-coverage (0.75-acre) model will retail for $3,500, and the larger-coverage (1.25-acre) model will retail for $4,000.
