Bobcat set to unveil new AI technologies at CES 2026

Doosan Bobcat Inc. plans to introduce artificial intelligence technologies at CES 2026 that are designed to operate directly on construction equipment rather than relying on cloud-based systems.

The company, part of the Doosan Group, said the technologies are intended to address workforce turnover, equipment downtime and increasing jobsite complexity in the construction industry.

Industry data cited by the company show about 41% of the U.S. construction workforce is expected to retire by 2031. In response, Bobcat plans to preview AI-based tools aimed at simplifying machine operation by providing real-time guidance. The tools are intended to assist less experienced operators while supporting productivity and precision for seasoned workers.

Bobcat also plans to demonstrate AI-supported diagnostic technology designed to speed troubleshooting and repairs. The system is intended to give technicians quicker access to machine data, repair history and guided support, with the goal of reducing downtime for equipment owners.

Another area of focus is jobsite awareness. The company said it will preview radar-based systems designed to monitor surroundings, detect hazards and help reduce collision risks through real-time alerts and automated responses.

Additional concepts scheduled for display include an updated operator interface that integrates key jobsite information into the operator’s field of view, a concept machine highlighting future equipment design and a modular electric power system for compact equipment.
