New Cat 60V 16-inch Chainsaw from Caterpillar, Positec

Caterpillar, in partnership with Positec Tool Corporation, has introduced its new Cat 60V, 16 inch Chainsaw. The chainsaw is part of the new line of Cat 60-volt outdoor power equipment introduced earlier this year.

Equipped with a highly efficient and dependable brushless motor, the chainsaw offers up to 40 percent more power and 10 percent longer run time than standard motors, the company reports. The brushless motor runs cooler with less friction and heat buildup than conventional motors, resulting in smooth, reliable operation and extended tool life.

The chainsaw’s Cat 60V MAX lithium-ion battery features technology designed to enhance the saw’s performance and extend run-times: Fully enclosed cell protection provides increased security against vibration, impact, moisture and thermal runaway. The Cat 60V 16 in. Chainsaw comes with a 3-amp, 50-minute charger. The battery is compatible with all Cat 60V outdoor power equipment.

Features of the Cat 60V 16-inch Chainsaw include:

• Capable of cutting timbers up to 30 in. diameter.
• 16-in. bar has a reduced-kickback chain with a 3/8 in. lp (low pitch); cutting speed rate of 72 ft./sec.
• Tool-less chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication (including reservoir with oil-level indicator; reservoir’s capacity of 6.7 oz.).
• The Cat 60V 16 in. Chainsaw (DG630) includes one 60V 2.5Ah MAX lithium-ion battery, a 3-amp 50-minute charger and a bar and chain scabbard. The chainsaw is covered by a five-year limited warranty.
