Husqvarna Robotic Mowers Sing to the Stars
Husqvarna is planning an intergalactic birthday bash, complete with singing robot mowers. Here’s the story.
On August 5, 2023, NASA’s Curiosity Rover will mark its 10th birthday, alone on Mars. On the Rover’s first birthday, it sang “Happy Birthday” to itself. Husqvarna wants to make sure Rover knows it is loved, at least by other robotic vehicles. In a recent firmware update, the company gave every Husqvarna Automower® robotic lawn mower, of the models 405X, 415X or 435X AWD, “a voice to sing Happy 10th Birthday to our fellow robot on Mars.”
The company says that users with 405X, 415X or 435X AWD will be notified about the update through the Husqvarna Automower® Connect app. Your Automower® must have the latest firmware installed to join in on the celebration.
The company hopes owners share video of their mower singing and tag it with #HappyBirthdayCuriosityRover and #Automower
Following Mars Curiosity Rover’s birthday, Husqvarna will make the Happy Birthday song available to owners of the three Automower® models permanently. This will be available early September, adding joy to future family birthday celebrations.
