EETC opens Scholten scholarship applications

Even before he helped to organize the Equipment & Engine Training Council, Paul Scholten was actively involved with technician certification and school accreditation. He was instrumental in the development of the four-cycle certification test. The EETC gives scholarships as a tribute to Paul H. Scholten (1940 – 2002), a founding member of the Equipment & Engine Training Council, its Past President, and a fervent advocate for excellence in power equipment service and repair.

Scholten retired from Kohler Company Engine Division in 2001 as Manager of Engine Service and Technical Publications. He served as a consultant to the industry following his retirement, and was a leader and mentor to many of his colleagues. He was also active in his community and his church. The EETC dedicates these scholarships to Paul in the hope that young people entering the power equipment industry regard him as a role model for excellence in all of their life’s endeavors.
