Deere adds to electric ZTR fleet
John Deere announces an expansion of its residential zero-turn mower lineup with the new electric Z380R ZTrak Zero-Turn Mower. With a 54-inch mowing deck this new electric model has a larger cutting capacity than its predecessor, the Z370R Electric. This new model also features dual batteries for longer runtime. Deere said it can handle up to 3.5 acres dependent on conditions. The Z380R uses two 58V lithium-ion batteries and a 700W on-board charger.
“With the introduction of the Z380R Electric, we’re rounding out our portfolio of residential zero-turn mowers, providing our customers with both gas and electric options to suit their unique needs,” said Eric Halfman, go-to-market manager, riding lawn equipment, John Deere. “The new model builds on the proven performance of the Z370R, updated with a larger deck for enhanced efficiency, making it an ideal choice for homeowners seeking a powerful, low-maintenance solution to keep their lawns looking pristine.”
An optional MulchControl technology reduces grass clippings, which Deere says provides a cleaner end-result for a healthier lawn. The robust construction of the Z380R Electric, including large front and side frame rails, enhances machine durability, performance and appearance.
The new electric Deere comes with a comprehensive two-year/200-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty, a five-year/200-hour battery warranty and an optional 10-year/400-hour PowerGard battery warranty. Disclaimer: The optional PowerGard warranty is only available in the U.S. The mower’s list price is $8,999.
