Stihl debuts ALLPRO battery system
Stihl has launched AllPro, a new professional battery system designed for forestry, landscaping and municipal applications. The system replaces the company’s AP battery platform while remaining compatible with existing AP tools and chargers.
The AllPro lineup includes four battery models — AP 100.0 P, AP 200.0 P, AP 300.0 P and AP 300.0 PC — that use tabless lithium-ion cell technology. According to Stihl, the technology allows energy to flow across the full surface of each battery cell, reducing heat buildup, increasing power output and shortening charging times compared with conventional battery designs.
Stihl said the AP 300.0 P battery delivers 60% more peak power, 20% longer runtime and up to twice the service life of the previous AP 300.0 S battery, with an expected lifespan of up to 3,000 charge cycles.
“With the AllPro battery system, we are setting the next technological milestone in the day-to-day work of our professional customers,” said Michael Traub, CEO of the Stihl Group. “This innovation brings together our 100 years of expertise in the development and application of gasoline-powered equipment, as well as decades of experience in battery development. Just as importantly, compatibility with the existing AP system ensures our customers’ current investments in tools and charging technology continue to deliver value, reinforcing Stihl as a trusted, long-term partner.”
The company said the batteries are designed to recharge to 80% capacity in less than 10 minutes when used with the Stihl AL 1602 MO mobile fast charger. The batteries also can be paired with the Stihl PS 2000 power station for charging in locations without access to traditional electrical service.
Built for outdoor use, the batteries carry an IPX5 water-resistance rating and are engineered for up to 3,000 charge cycles, according to the company.
The AllPro batteries are available in multiple capacities for different applications. The AP 100.0 P is intended for lightweight handheld equipment, while the AP 200.0 P is designed for general-purpose use. The AP 300.0 P provides the highest capacity and longest runtime in the lineup, and the AP 300.0 PC adds connectivity for use with Stihl’s fleet management system.
Stihl said the AllPro platform also includes AP 20.1 and AP 30.1 battery options that use conventional cell technology for users who do not require rapid charging capabilities.
