KanEquip JCB opens Kansas City location
KanEquip JCB has opened a location in the Kansas City market focused on JCB equipment sales, parts and service.
The Kansas City location is the first JCB-only dealership for KanEquip Inc., a 14-location equipment dealer organization with roots dating to 1967, when the company began as Meinhardt Farm Equipment.
Founder Jim Meinhardt established KanEquip in 1999. In 2019, his sons, Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt, acquired majority ownership. The company represents equipment brands serving agricultural and construction customers.
KanEquip’s relationship with JCB began in 2019 with a focus on wheel loaders and telehandlers. The JCB product line has since expanded within the company’s operations. In 2025, JCB recognized KanEquip as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers in the world.
“We were able to pick up the line in 2019. We really thought it would be just some wheel loaders and some telehandlers, and it’s grown much beyond that,” said Grant Meinhardt, vice president and general manager of KanEquip JCB.
JCB products are currently offered at six KanEquip locations across Kansas. The Kansas City location is the company’s first dealership dedicated exclusively to JCB equipment.
KanEquip’s entry into the Kansas City market followed the sale of CSTK (Central States Thermo King) to Trane Inc. The change created an opportunity for KanEquip to establish a JCB dealership in the market.
KanEquip also sought to retain employees with experience serving JCB customers in the area. The two companies had worked alongside one another for years, according to Meinhardt.
“They’ve had employees there since 2014. They know what they are doing. They had a good representation as far as the rental house market. If we can save those guys, we have something,” Meinhardt said. “That’s really what we were going after in the Kansas City market — the employees. We were able to save a number of the employees, and we’re really blessed to have them because they are very good at their jobs.”
The new location will provide equipment sales, parts and service to JCB customers in the Kansas City area. KanEquip said the expansion will also add jobs and establish the company in the Kansas City business community.
