John Deere delivers new 40 P-Tier compact excavator
John Deere will display its new 40 P-Tier Compact Excavator at Equip Exposition Oct. 20-23 in Louisville, Kentucky. The machine has an operating weight of less than 10,000 pounds and is designed for applications including landscaping, rental, utility and general construction.
The machine is configured for transport between jobsites without requiring a commercial driver’s license, according to John Deere.
“Operators require equipment that helps them move confidently from task to task, including projects of varying sizes and the new 40 P-Tier Compact Excavator is designed to do just that,” said Emily Pagura, product marketing manager, John Deere. “With exceptional hydraulic performance, expansive attachment options and an intuitive John Deere technology experience, the 40 P-Tier gives operators the control, versatility and efficiency they need to get more done throughout the day.”
The 40 P-Tier offers digging and lifting capabilities and can be equipped with options including a hydraulic pin-grabber coupler, rearview camera, factory-installed thumb, angle blade and auxiliary hydraulic packages.
John Deere also will display the ME28 Mulching Head, an attachment compatible with the 40 P-Tier. The mulching head is designed for applications such as right-of-way maintenance, fence-line clearing and work in confined areas. It features a variable-speed motor, rotor design and reversible Cubit knife-style teeth.
The 40 P-Tier comes standard with Attachment Manager technology, which allows operators to recall preset hydraulic settings for compatible attachments. The system is designed to reduce setup time when changing attachments.
The excavator includes a John Deere CommandARM, an 8-inch touchscreen display, an electronic pattern changer and standard JDLink connectivity. An optional Bluetooth radio and rearview camera also are available.
JDLink connectivity provides fleet managers with machine location and equipment health information through John Deere Operations Center. The machine also includes accessible daily service points and is available with cab configurations that include heating and air conditioning, premium seating and additional storage.
