Briggs & Stratton presented with prestigious award

Briggs & Stratton is a winner of the 2012 Torch Award for business ethics and integrity presented by the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee-based company won in the “more than 175 employees category.” Awards were presented at a luncheon ceremony at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee on Oct. 23. Winners were selected by an independent panel of 11 business ethics experts and chosen based on submissions that demonstrated excellence in ethical practices, service excellence, reputation, honest advertising, peer recognition, management practices and employee training in ethical behavior.

“This is an honor to accept this award on behalf of Briggs & Stratton,” said Christopher Drew, project engineer at Briggs & Stratton and the initiator of the submission process. “It was very clear to see the benefits of being an ethical enterprise per the Torch Award requirements. It was also very clear that Briggs & Stratton and its employees are committed to ethics, integrity and sustainable business practices and take great pride in doing so.”

“It’s our pleasure to shine the spotlight on these companies, all of whom put a high priority on ethics and integrity with their customers, their employees and their vendors,” said Randall Hoth, president/CEO of the Wisconsin BBB. “They join a long list of impressive Wisconsin companies who have achieved this honor in the past 10 years.”
