DR Power Equipment launches new entry models in core product lines for spring 2013

In an effort to attract a new segment of younger buyers, DR Power Equipment recently announced its plans to create new, lower-horsepower models that will compete directly with those offered at box stores like Home Depot and Sears. Product lines affected by this change include the DR Trimmer/Mower, the DR Field and Brush Mower (walk and tow-behind lines), and the DR Roto-Hog tillers.

DR Power Equipment, which built its brand offering high-quality power equipment to homeowners is taking a more competitive stance in the marketplace for 2013. Fully intending to still offer the best-quality equipment for the homeowner, DR is now widening its offering to make its products more accessible to more people.

“Historically, DR Power Equipment has done a phenomenal job creating products that are great for people who either have a fair amount of land or can afford the ‘best-in-class’ equipment,” said Joe Perrotto, CEO of Country Home Products, the parent company for DR Power Equipment. “However, as we all know, the American homeowner is faced with more financial challenges than they were 20 years ago. DR Power wants to be as available to the smaller-property owner or new-home buyer as any other brand they can buy today. If we can design smaller models at a lower price point and still offer DR brand quality, we will be staying true to our mission of making the experience of caring for your property a better one.”

Additions to the DR Power Equipment lineup include:

DR 6.5 Premier Trimmer/Mower: 6.50 FPT Kohler engine and a 22-inch cutting width.
DR 12.5 Pro Model Field and Brush Mower: Self-propelled model features a 12.5-hp. Briggs & Stratton OHV engine and cuts 4-foot-high grass, 8-foot-high weeds and brush, and 2-inch-thick saplings. Accepts all optional attachments.
DR 12.5 Premier Field and Brush Mower: Tow-behind model has a 12.5-hp. Briggs & Stratton engine and cuts 4-foot-high grass, 8-foot-high weeds and brush, and up to 1-inch thick saplings.
