Husqvarna partners with Flex for product lifecycle services

On Feb. 5, Husqvarna and Flex announced a strategic manufacturing partnership. Flex (not the Flex Power Tools that is part of the Chervon Group) is a global company in design, manufacturing, supply chain and infrastructure, all part of what the company calls “product lifecycle services.” It started in 1969 as Flextronics, a circuit board manufacturer in California’s Silicon Valley. Today, Flex has tens of thousands of employees at offices across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, with its headquarters in Austin, Texas.

In a press release, the two companies said this partnership will enable Husqvarna to enhance flexibility, efficiency, and time to market through Flex’s strategic supply chain management solutions and expand Flex’s Lifestyle portfolio into outdoor and power equipment.

On the Flex website under “Industries,” Flex currently lists Automotive, Data Center, Healthcare, and others, but not “Outdoor Power Equipment.”

The press release continues …

As part of the agreement, Flex will provide supply chain and manufacturing services to Husqvarna for the North American market. This collaboration will better support Husqvarna’s customer needs and position the company for long-term growth while leveraging Flex’s supply chain, vertically-integrated manufacturing including metal fabrication, distribution and aftermarket expertise and services in the U.S.

Andreas Rangert, President of Husqvarna Forest & Garden North America shares, “This is an exciting step into Husqvarna’s future. The joint agreement with Flex allows us to streamline business operations in North America and focus on our continued commitment to provide our customers with innovative, leading product solutions.”

“This partnership with Husqvarna brings together a shared commitment to building high-quality products and marks a significant expansion for Flex’s Lifestyle offerings,” said Dennis Kirkpatrick, President, Lifestyle, Consumer Devices, and Core Industrial Businesses, Flex. “Aligned with our EMS + Products + Services strategy, we look forward to providing lifecycle services to Husqvarna and strengthening both organizations’ competitiveness in the U.S.”

Since 1689, Husqvarna has pioneered innovative technologies and lawncare solutions, becoming one of the world’s leading outdoor power equipment brands. Husqvarna will continue to lead product innovation and design as Flex brings deep supply chain and manufacturing expertise and capabilities, drawing on 50+ years of experience partnering with market-leading brands.
