Hyundai adds HX210L to excavator lineup

HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America has introduced the HX210L long-track excavator, expanding its excavator lineup with a model that incorporates features first shown on five next-generation HX excavators unveiled earlier this year at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

The HX210L is powered by a Hyundai DX05 engine rated at 186 horsepower (139 kW) net power. According to the company, the engine delivers 6% more torque and 7% greater fuel efficiency while reducing diesel exhaust fluid consumption by 30%. The machine also includes updated operator comfort features, extended service intervals and additional safety options.

The excavator has a rated operating weight of 54,900 pounds (24,900 kg) and a maximum digging depth of 21 feet, 9 inches (6.32 m).

According to Joe Hodges, Hyundai’s product manager for excavators, the HX210L’s pilot-controlled hydraulic system delivers the operating feel and performance operators expect while making it a cost-effective option for rental companies and larger fleets.

Built on the same platform as the HX230L, the HX210L comes standard with a 10,800-pound (4,900 kg) counterweight. The machine also features a reinforced upper structure, an upgraded swing bearing, increased swing torque and larger-capacity buckets.

Hyundai has updated the operator station with a wider heated and cooled seat and revised ventilation. Optional packages add additional comfort features.

The company also extended maintenance intervals for engine oil, engine filters and fuel filters from 500 to 1,000 hours when CK-4 engine oil is used. Coolant replacement intervals have been extended from 2,000 to 6,000 hours.

Available safety options include a white-noise alert system designed to warn nearby workers of the machine’s presence while reducing noise compared with conventional alarms. Other optional safety features include Smart Around View Monitoring, which uses six cameras and artificial intelligence to detect people working or moving around the machine during operation.

The HX210L also includes five years of Hyundai Connect, the company’s remote fleet management system, at no additional charge. The system provides location tracking, theft prevention, maintenance notifications and fleet monitoring.
