Salt plan has Q-C ready for snow, ice

After seeing lower salt prices and introducing new technology, Quad-City, IA public works departments say they are ready for winter. Ordering salt earlier and as part of a regional consortium dropped the price of salt close to half of what it was last year for Davenport and Moline. The cities saved this year by buying salt as part of a regional group for $59.82 per ton.
