Syngenta launches free weed identification guide
A new online weed identification guide from Syngenta is intended to help turf professionals and lawn care operators identify weeds and make weed management decisions.
The free digital resource was developed to support weed identification and provide agronomic recommendations for turf industry professionals.
“Proper identification is essential for effective weed management,” said Matt Giese. “Without it, it’s difficult to select the right approach for control. Our goal with this guide is to simplify identification and provide treatment recommendations to help turf managers confidently take the next steps for control.”
According to the company, the guide was created by the Syngenta turf technical services team with contributions from researchers across the country. It includes visual references, identification characteristics and information intended to help users distinguish between similar weed species.
The guide is designed for golf course superintendents, lawn care operators, sports field managers and sod producers. It also includes information on weed control options and weed management strategies.
“We are excited to launch this weed identification guide as a free resource for turfgrass management professionals,” said Stephanie Schwenke. “This guide reflects significant collaboration and industry expertise and we hope users find it to be a valuable tool that helps them be more efficient and successful with their weed management strategies.”
The digital weed identification guide and additional agronomic resources are available at GreenCast Online Weed Guide.
