Stihl to resume normal operations

Stihl Inc. announced that normal operations at the Virginia Beach plant will resume on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. All employees should report to work on their regular shifts. The plant temporarily suspended operations due to Hurricane Irene’s approach to the area.

The plant has been examined and cleared for all employees to return to their jobs. “We are pleased to be returning to work after a visit from Hurricane Irene left little impact to the Stihl campus,” said Roger Phelps, a spokesman for Stihl Inc. “We have some cleanup to do like most other business residents of Virginia Beach, but we were fortunate and will resume our manufacturing and normal business operations on Monday.

Stihl employees should still contact the Stihl Weather Hotline provided to them before the storm one hour prior to their shift in case there are specific work hour changes.
