Husqvarna offers consumers limited extended warranty program

Oil and water don’t mix, but oil and limited consumer extended warranties do — at Husqvarna.

On March 28, Husqvarna announced the launch of a limited extended consumer warranty program for its 2-stroke, gasoline-powered products purchased by consumers. The standard two-year limited warranty can be extended to three or four years with the purchase of specific amounts of Husqvarna brand 2-stroke oil or pre-mix fuel when purchasing the 2-stroke, gasoline-powered products.

Eligible items include the following designated Husqvarna-branded handheld products: chain saws, blowers, hedge trimmers, pole pruners/saws and trimmers. The program is only available for consumers who use the products for non-income producing personal use or household purposes. (The program excludes two-stroke, gasoline-powered handheld products purchased for commercial, agricultural, retail, industrial and rental usage.)

“By purchasing and using our 2-stroke oil or pre-mix fuel, consumers will have the opportunity to extend the warranty of their Husqvarna 2-stroke, gasoline-powered handheld products,” said Jim Parello, director of marketing, Husqvarna. “Equally important, their new Husqvarna product will benefit from the use of our high-quality oil and fuel products, which will heighten the performance and lifespan of their new handheld piece of equipment.”

Consumers may extend the warranty by up to two additional years, as follows:

One-year extension (three years total). Consumers must purchase at least six bottles of Husqvarna brand 2-stroke oil at the same time as the qualifying handheld product purchase, with both purchases on the original product receipt.
Two-year extension (four years total). Consumers must purchase at least three bottles of the new 32-ounce Husqvarna brand Pre-Mixed 2-stroke Fuel at the same time as the qualifying handheld product purchase, with both purchases on the original product receipt.

Consumers must also register their product online or directly at the retail location where purchased in order to qualify for the extended warranty.

Husqvarna’s new Pre-Mixed 2-Stroke Fuel is an ethanol-free, 95-octane fuel mixed with Husqvarna’s best synthetic blended oil. The fuel does not degrade or oxidize like pump gas and stays fresh for years, solving long-term storage issues. Additionally, it provides easier, more dependable starts and protects fuel systems and saves carburetors.
