Toro’s new Z Master Professional 6000 Series EFI propane mowers

Toro announced June 3 that it has updated its line of Z Master Professional 6000 Series propane mowers with new 27-hp. Kohler Command Pro closed-loop electronic fuel injection (EFI) propane engines. These new models incorporate closed-loop EFI technology that improves fuel efficiency, features best-in-class starting, and can reduce downtime because the mowers operate without carburetors. Toro’s updated line of EFI propane mowers can reduce fuel costs by up to 25 percent and require less maintenance when being compared to similarly sized carburetor engines.

“Landscape contractors want the advantage of a cleaner-burning and more efficient engine without sacrificing power and results,” said Chris Hannan, marketing manager for Toro. “Our new propane mowers help reduce landscape contractors’ carbon footprint with the same level of performance and durability professionals expect from Toro.”

Toro Z Master Professional 6000 Series propane mowers come standard with the exclusive TURBO FORCE cutting deck in 60- and 72-inch widths. Boasting durable 7-gauge steel, robust cast-iron spindle housings, and high-strength steel blades, these machines can achieve outstanding results at higher ground speeds.

The propane mowers feature a fully sealed fuel system that eliminates evaporation emissions, fuel contamination, theft and spillage. Each unit has a single propane tank that will hold 43.5 pounds of liquid propane mounted behind the seat to allow better deck and drive tire visibility.

Landscape contractors also can take advantage of the Propane Education and Research Council’s (PERC) Contractor Incentive Program. Any contractor purchasing a Toro propane mower in 2013 can receive $1,000 from PERC to be applied toward the purchase price. Participants simply need to report to PERC the mower’s performance and usage for one mowing season.
