EDA announces ninth EDF board member

The Equipment Dealers Association (EDA) recently announced the appointment of the ninth and final member of the Equipment Dealers Foundation (EDF) board of directors: Steve Kayton. Like the other board members and officers, Kayton previously served as national chair of the EDA (formerly NAEDA) board of directors and currently owns and operates an equipment dealership.

Kayton is dealer principal of Nebraska Equipment, a Case IH and Kubota dealership in Seward, Neb. He also has interests in Kayton International Inc. and Horizon West Inc. Kayton is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. He began his career with the former International Harvester Co. before starting Nebraska Equipment Inc. in 1985. He represents the fourth generation of the Kayton family in the farm equipment business. Kayton was national chair of EDA (NAEDA) in 2008.

The other foundation board members are Tom Nobbe (chair), Blaine Bingham (vice chair), Roger Gjellstad, Lester Killebrew, Bob Frazee, Jim Meinhardt, John Fleet and Brian Carpenter.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Steve to the foundation board,” noted EDF Chair Tom Nobbe. “His appointment adds knowledge and experience to an already outstanding group of industry leaders, and I am honored to serve as their chair.”

Established in 1988, the Equipment Dealers Foundation provides funding for scholarships to meet our industry’s need for training resources and temporary assistance for dealerships and their employees who have been affected by natural disasters.
