August 2022 dealership sales data revealed
OPE wholegood revenue in August 2022 declined 12% on average vs. August 2021 for dealerships in the U.S., contributing to an overall average dealership sales decline of 10%, according to the latest data provided to OPE Business by Constellation Data Solutions. The data comes from a study of more than 1,500 OPE same store dealerships.
Service revenue was 10% on average and parts sales declined 4% on average at U.S. OPE dealerships in August 2022 vs. August 2021.
In Canada, wholegood sales faced an average 27% decline, with service revenue down 16% and parts declining 11% on average. The overall dealership average revenue drop for August in Canada was 21%.
In the U.S. West region, the average overall dealership sales were flat, with wholegood sales down 2%, service down 15% and parts showing an 8% increase.
The average dealership in the Northeast encountered significant challenges, with wholegood sales declining 20%, leading to an average overall dealership revenue drop of 19% in August 2022 vs. August 2021.
