Russo expands footprint with Burke’s Outdoor Equipment
Russo Power Equipment has expanded its presence in Northwest Indiana through the integration of Burke’s Outdoor Equipment.
The Valparaiso dealership at 745 W. U.S. Highway 30 joined the Russo network in September 2025 and now operates as Russo Outdoor Power Plus.
Burke’s Outdoor Equipment was founded in 1963, beginning as a small garage operation before growing into a long-standing outdoor power equipment dealership serving Northwest Indiana. Over the years, the business supplied equipment and service to residential and commercial customers, carrying brands that included Ariens, Gravely, Toro, Echo and Billy Goat.
Dave and Nadine Brown acquired Burke’s in 2020 and oversaw updates to operations that included staffing initiatives, expanded digital systems and development of a more than 22,000-square-foot facility. The dealership continued to serve homeowners, municipalities, churches and professional landscapers throughout the region.
Michael Kolowski of Russo Power Equipment said the Valparaiso location aligns with the company’s existing dealer network and regional footprint.
The Valparaiso staff transitioned with the location and will continue serving customers under the new ownership structure. The integration reflects ongoing consolidation and investment activity within the outdoor power equipment industry across the Midwest.
