Upfront: OPE steps up online offerings with 2010 Power Source and Green Industry Marketplace
By Steve Noe
With great pride and pleasure, I present to you OPE’s 2010 Power Source directory — your guide to the key contact information for the outdoor power equipment industry’s manufacturers, distributors and associations. We are extremely excited about the 2010 edition for several reasons.
First and foremost, for the first time ever, we are offering the Power Source both in print and online. Since re-launching our Web site at www.outdoorpowerequipment.com nearly two years ago, we have made a concerted effort to beef up our online presence with the creation of our bi-weekly e-mail newsletter, OPExtra, as well as the digital edition of the magazine. (Incidentally, you can subscribe to both online offerings for free through our Web site.)
Thus, when the time came to do the 2010 Power Source, we decided to take it to the next level by offering it online as well through the establishment of the “Green Industry Marketplace” at www.outdoorpowerequipment.com/marketplace. At this highly interactive Web site, you will be able to view all of the listings found in the print and digital editions of the Power Source directory, plus browse by product category. Manufacturers and distributors not listed in the 2010 Power Source can add their listing, and those listed in the directory have the option to upgrade their current listing.
Due to the launch of the “Green Industry Marketplace,” we re-designed the 2010 Power Source directory into three sections: “Manufacturers’ Index,” “Distributors’ Index” and “Association Index.” In the “Manufacturers’ Index,” we list the manufacturers alphabetically by name, along with their key contact information, followed by — for the first time ever — the products that they manufacture. For quick and easy referencing, the “Distributors’ Index” is not only arranged alphabetically by country name, state or province, and company name, but also with the “lines” listed alphabetically. The “Association Index” remains the same with all industry associations listed alphabetically by name.
I would like to thank each and every person who not only took the time, but also the leap of faith to submit their company information via our online form. We started the 2010 Power Source completely from scratch to bring you the most current information on the industry’s manufacturers, distributors and associations, so if your company is not listed, please visit the “Green Industry Marketplace” at www.outdoorpowerequipment.com/marketplace to submit your listing.
We hope that you enjoy the 2010 Power Source, the new “Green Industry Marketplace” and our revamped home page. We want our home page to become your home page!
