Tidewater Power Equipment purchases Engine Distribution Center

Tidewater Power Equipment (TPE), an outdoor power equipment distributor based in Virginia Beach, Va., announced Jan. 9 that it recently purchased Engine Distribution Center (EDC), an OPE distributor located in Greensboro, N.C. Effective immediately, EDC will become a wholly owned subsidiary of TPE. While EDC will continue to function in its own facility out of Greensboro, all Honda Engines and their accompanying parts and accessories will now ship out of TPE’s Virginia Beach location, expanding TPE’s existing Honda Engine territory to include North and South Carolina.

“This is a natural area of growth for our Honda Engine business,” stated TPE President Todd Winstead. “We are extremely excited to add Honda Engines, as well as the other product lines represented by EDC, to our existing product offerings in the states of North and South Carolina.” TPE already represents Hustler Turf, Timberwolf, Monster, Maruyama, BlueBird, Plugr, Ecolawn, Prizelawn and Jacto in North and South Carolina.

According to Winstead, by keeping the EDC operation in Greensboro intact, he expects a seamless transition to take place with no interruption in service to customers. Winstead and his team look forward to welcoming the EDC staff to the TPE family, as well as working with their new and current customers in the expanded territory.
