Briggs & Stratton announces election of a new director

Briggs & Stratton Corporation announced Oct. 17 that its board of directors unanimously elected a new director effective upon conclusion of the board meeting that day. Henrik C. Slipsager will succeed Michael E. Batten, who retired as a director Oct. 17.

Slipsager will serve as a member of the class of directors whose terms of office expire in 2014. Slipsager is the president and chief executive officer of ABM Industries, Inc., a leading provider of integrated facility solutions headquartered in New York, N.Y.
