Mean Green Mowers asked to dance and demo in California
Since exhibiting at the Green Industry & Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) Oct. 24-26 in Louisville, Ky., Mean Green Products LLC of Okeana, Ohio, has been busy responding to requests from California.
Only three days after GIE+EXPO, Mean Green Mowers made a guest appearance on one of the most popular live TV shows, “Dancing with the Stars” (DWTS) in Hollywood. The Mean Green CXR-60 lithium-powered zero-turn mower graced the dance floor with Derek Hough at the controls and his dance partner, former U.S. Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, along for the ride on the rear cover to begin their dance performance to Kenny Chesney’s song “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy!”
“DWTS contacted us just three days before they needed us on set, so we set out on a 36-hour journey to be on the show!” said Joe Conrad, president of Mean Green Products LLC.
On Dec. 6, Mean Green Products LLC announced that it was selected to be a technology demonstrator for the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District’s cordless, zero-emission, commercial lawn & garden equipment demonstration program (Project #C-20354). As a result, Mean Green Products will be sending a shipment of Mean Green Mowers, both zero-turn and walk-behind models, to California.
In the past, the San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District has had programs to replace residential gas mowers with electric push mowers, but this is the first program intended for replacement of commercial-grade gas mowers with cordless, commercial, electric mowers.
