Masport announces expanded North American distribution
Masport Ltd. announced Jan. 29 a new comprehensive North American distribution arrangement with the Integrated Distributors Network, LLC (IDN), which features the exclusive Briggs & Stratton parts distributors in North America.
IDN, which consists of seven outdoor power equipment distributors (six in the United States and one in Canada), was founded in 2004 with a vision to create a seamless national distribution system of exclusive spare parts to North American dealers servicing Briggs & Stratton-powered equipment. To realize this vision, IDN members have progressively acquired and consolidated a number of distributors that were well established in their markets and distinguished by their industry expertise. IDN capabilities encompass all aspects of engine-powered equipment distribution. From engine replacement parts to generators, pressure washers and weed trimmers, IDN provides the highest level of service to all of its customers, regardless of location.
To complement its Briggs & Stratton spare parts business, IDN is also establishing a range of power products, including Core, Dolmar, Oregon, Worx and now Masport. The map below details the location of these distributors and their exclusive territories.
Established in New Zealand more than 100 years ago, Masport has gained a sound reputation for manufacturing innovative New Zealand designed and engineered outdoor power equipment and is New Zealand’s leading manufacturer of lawn and garden outdoor power equipment and lifestyle patio products.
Masport recently introduced into the U.S. market its patent-pending Genius lawn mower. This mower has mulching, catching, and side-discharging capability and comes with an extra chipper blade, allowing it to shred branches up to 1-3/8 inches in diameter and turn them into mulch. As branches are chipped, they are fed back into the catcher for spreading as mulch.
Masport has also been selling a wide range of homeowner gas-powered reel mowers around the world for more than 50 years. These high-quality reel mowers also incorporate a rear roller, which produces a professional manicured stripe lawn finish. Other gas-powered products in Masport’s North American range include the “Home Gardener,” a unique out-front tined tiller, and a four-wheeled lawn edger.
Masport exhibits annually at the GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Ky., where the IDN group is also represented on the Masport stand.
