nizeX presents merX
nizeX, Inc. has released the outdoor power equipment (OPE) industry’s first open-source, free integration software. This innovative new project will change the way OPE vendors and their dealer customers communicate by enabling faster, simpler integration.
When asked why nizeX was rolling out a new integration EDI at no cost to users, Glenn Hancock, president of nizeX, said, “We’ve wanted to give our dealers better integration for years, but almost every vendor has tried a different approach. While we’ve worked with various manufacturers to support their custom interfaces, many have found that developing their own solutions is both time-consuming and costly, which greatly increases the length of time that it takes for dealers to see any benefits. Our number one priority is to our dealers, and we decided it was time to give the industry a standardized solution for integration that offered everything dealers need right now in order to run their businesses more efficiently. We are offering this software free to every manufacturer, OEM and distributor because we want our dealers — and every OPE dealer out there — to have the advantages of electronic interfacing with their vendors.”
There are many supported merX processes already incorporated into the software, and adopters may choose to add or customize options as they desire. In addition to being free for vendors, any business management system (BMS) provider may also use the merX software to integrate with supporting manufacturers at no cost.
Currently supported merX processes:
Ability to send purchase orders
Obtain updates on purchase order status
Obtain real-time manufacturer inventory levels
Send current inventory levels
Obtain rebate and holdback information for specific models
Send sales and warranty registration data
Send and receive consignment information
