August wholegoods sales maintain strong performance

After a 26% increase in July, wholegood sales improved upon their showing on average during August according to the latest exclusive data for OPE Business readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group.

Wholegood sales increased 35% in August vs. August 2019 on average according to Same Store Sales results at U.S. outdoor power equipment dealerships. The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS products. The Same Store Sales data compares August 2020 vs. August 2019 wholegoods sales at 1,173 independent servicing OPE dealerships.

In the U.S., OPE dealership wholegoods sales at Constellation DMS dealerships experienced an average increase of 35% during July.

Dealers in the South region experienced an average 39% increase in wholegood sales to lead the nation in August vs. August 2019, while the Midwest had a 34% increase. Dealers in the Northeast saw a 33% wholegoods sales increase during August on average, while dealers in the West saw average wholegoods gains of 19% during August.

Canadian dealers had an average wholegoods sales increase of 27%.

The percentage breakdown by dealerships that were up vs. down in wholegoods sales for August is as follows:

West: 72% up; 28% down

Midwest: 65% up; 35% down

Northeast: 65% up; 35% down

South: 74% up; 26% down

USA: 70% up; 30% down

Canada: 63% up; 37% down
