Yanmar Unveils Brand Tagline, and Introduces New Excavator, Wheel Loaders, Electric Mini Excavator Prototype

Yanmar Compact Equipment has revealed its new brand tagline – “Together We Build” – and also introduced its new SV40 Excavator; a line of compact wheel loaders; and its first electric mini excavator prototype.

The launch of its new tagline “is the culmination of extensive global research and consultation with staff, dealer partners and customers [and] also represents an important strategic step in Yanmar CE’s transformation journey,” the company states.

“Our aim, together with our dealer partners, is to build stronger relationships and create even greater customer value,” says Yanmar CEO Giuliano Parodi. “‘Together We Build’ really underlines our commitment to transforming Yanmar CE and with the help of our dealers, to focus on creating a new and exciting experience for our customers. Our transformation will embrace, not only our products with new and alternative fuel technologies, but our entire business with value creation at its heart.”

Elsie De Nys, Yanmar’s global director channel and brand development, adds: “‘Together We Build’ is what we and our dealer partners have always tried to do with our customers. Their success has always been our success. We have always tried to help them build their businesses, whilst at the same time building our own. The difference now, is that the positive advances we are making across our business, have given us the confidence to go out to our customers and say this is what we stand for.”

On the equipment side of things, Yanmar Compact Equipment has introduced:

SV40 Excavator: An ultra-tight tail swing excavator specifically developed for the North American market, the SV40 boasts power, flexibility and stability in a compact package. Weighing 4 tons, the SV40 features a 39-hp electronically controlled Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine and comes standard with Yanmar’s patented quick coupler, SmartAssist remote communication system and the Yanmar 4 year/4,000-hour warranty. Options for the SV40 include a second PTO function, 4- or 6-way blade and an additional counterweight.

“Redefining the definition of compact power, our SV40 is pushing the limits on an excavator of its size. With best-in-class power, digging force and lifting capacity, this machine will be a game changer within the compact excavator segment,” states Jeff Pate, director of sales for Yanmar Compact Equipment.

A new line of Compact Wheel Loaders: Built for maximum efficiency, high performance and ease of operation, the lineup includes the V4-7, V8, V10 and V12 models. The machines feature operating weights from 8,422 to 15,432 lbs.; bucket capacities from 0.65 to 2.35 cubic yards; and lift capacities of 7,451 to 15,962 pound-force. Travel speeds range from 11.8 to 22 mph. The V4-7, V8 and V10 are equipped with electronically controlled, Tier 4 Final Yanmar diesel engines, while the V12 features a Deutz diesel engine that’s also Tier 4 Final compliant. Hydraulic quick couplers allow for fast and easy changing of attachments.

The new compact wheel loaders are also designed to emphasize operator comfort with cabs that includes high visibility, a suspension seat and full climate control. All models feature two doors for easy entry from either side and maximum ventilation. The V8, V10 and V12 come standard with enclosed cabs designed to reduce operator fatigue; the V4-7 is available in both open- and closed-cab configurations.

SV17e electric mini excavator prototype: Targeted at customers in the European market, the SV17e plays in the 1.5 to 2.0 tonnes segment. Powered by an efficient electric drive and 48-volt batteries with fast charging capability, it’s a quiet, zero-emission machine designed to meet demanding emissions restrictions.

“Our aim, together with our dealer partners, is to build stronger relationships and create even greater customer value,” says Parodi. “Our transformation will embrace our entire business and will encompass new products with alternative fuel technologies. The SV17e prototype is a clear demonstration of our intent to build a sustainable business for our customers and dealer partners.”

In preparation for its sales start at the Bauma 2022 tradeshow in Munich, Germany, the prototype SV17e is currently undergoing product testing, Yanmar reports. The company has also prepared a video of the SV17e in action, showcasing the new machine’s power, control and precision.

“Our prototype is significant because it demonstrates our capability to bring the quality and reliability of our highly respected conventional engine technology into the arena of electrification,” says Cedric Durand, director product management EMEA. “But we have gone further. As always, the operator is at the heart of this machine, and we have challenged ourselves to deliver the comfort, power, control and precision which we believe will surpass the expectations of professional operators.”
