EETC opens annual scholarship applications

The Equipment & Engine Training Council (EETC) has opened applications for its annual Paul H. Scholten Memorial Scholarships.

For the 2022-2023 school year, up to six scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded. The scholarships will be in the form of a gift card/certificate from a choice of tool vendors: Snap-on, Mac Tools and Tekton.

Scholarships are awarded to individuals pursuing a certificate or degree in at an EETC-accredited school. Applicants are judged on their academic achievement, leadership activities and student statement, notes EETC; preference is given to qualified applicants who exhibit financial need.

Eligible applicants must be:

• Full-time students (minimum of 12 credits);

• Currently enrolled in an EETC-accredited power equipment program; and

• A high-school senior who’s been accepted for enrollment in an EETC-accredited power equipment program.

Deadline to apply for the Paul H. Scholten Memorial Scholarship is March 25, 2023.

The EETC scholarships given are in memory and tribute to Paul H. Scholten (1940 – 2002), a founding member of the Equipment & Engine Training Council, its past president, and an advocate for excellence in power equipment service and repair. Scholten spent his entire professional career with the Kohler Company Engine Division, retiring from the company in 2001 as manager of engine service and technical publications. Following his retirement, he served as a consultant to the industry.
