See you in Charlotte for NALP Elevate
I attended the Elevate event last year for the first time. The event, organized by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), was an eye opener for me, seeing the immensity of the landscape industry and meeting business owners large and small. I will be there again next week and would love to connect with anyone attending.
The highlight for me last year was the breakfast meeting / education event / networking opportunity they call Breakfast of Champions. As I said about Equip Expo, it’s the people for me that make this event a hit. And it’s why I recommend attendance at events like this.
Other highlights for me last year?
The keynote address by Liz Bohannon where she advocates to “dream small,” and to “choose curiosity over criticism.”
Talking with Jack Moore, CEO of Grass Person, to learn more about growing a landscape business.
Attending a session on robotic lawn mowers to hear researchers discuss grass health.
Seeing new products from large and small manufacturers.
My main goal this year is to meet more landscape business owners and managers. I need to grow my connections there. I will be walking the floor during Expo hours and attending as many education sessions as possible.
I will also be scouting the Charlotte area to prep for our own event in January!
The OPE+ Power Forum event
I want to make sure you’re aware of our own upcoming event, the Power Forum. This is a business conference, not a product expo, and it’s focused on learning from topic experts and each other, while networking in small group settings over a couple days in Charlotte.
This conference starts January 20, and we’ll mix in some fun too, like a night at the NASCAR Hall of Fame near our hotel. You can find all the info on our Power Forum website. Be prepared for learning and professional growth. We all need that.
