Same-store and YTD sales report
We publish these same-store sales reports monthly to show both a snapshot and a trendline of retail sales activity at OPE dealerships in North America. For November 2024, the U.S. as a whole saw a 7 % decrease compared to the same month last year, back into the red following a positive report from October.
Coming off their reported gains in October, dealers in the Southern U.S. again showed overall increases in both wholegood and parts sales. That wasn’t enough this month to lift the entire nation’s same-store sales numbers into the black.
While Parts sales saw growth in most regions last month, they were in negative territory month-over-month in all locations but the south, including Canada. Service and wholegood sales declined again in most parts of North America.
October’s sales spike may have been due, in part, to storms in the south. Hurricane Helene hit at the end of September, and Hurricane Milton hit in early October.
