Polaris Recalls Ranger XP Kinetic and Pro XD Kinetic Due to Fire Hazard

Polaris Industries announced a recall of nearly 5,000 Ranger XP Kinetic UTVs after determining that water can leak through a cracked filter into the vehicle’s high-voltage charging harness components and cause a short circuit, posing a fire hazard.

Polaris dealers will handle repairs at their locations. Polaris is contacting all registered owners directly and providing instructions on how to continue operating their vehicles until the repair can be completed. This recall impacts vehicles sold in the U.S. and Canada, as well as accessory charger service parts/kits.

TTI Outdoor Recalls Ryobi 40-Volt 24-Inch Cordless Hedge Trimmers Due to Laceration Hazard

Ryobi is recalling more than 100,000 24-in. cordless hedge trimmers after finding that the trimmer’s blade can unexpectedly activate after pressing just the safety or trigger control individually rather than engaging the safety and trigger controls simultaneously, posing a laceration hazard.

The recalled trimmer must be returned to TTI Outdoor Power Equipment to receive a free replacement trimmer (pre-paid label will be provided). TTIOPE is contacting all known purchasers.

DR Power Equipment Recalls Battery-Powered Chainsaws Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

DR Power announced a recall of battery-powered chainsaws due to a potentially overheating motor controller that poses fire and burn hazards. This recall impacts more than 7,000 chainsaws in the U.S. and Canada. 

Consumers will receive a pro-rated refund for the chainsaw tool based on the chainsaw’s age. Consumers will need to show proof of the chainsaw’s destruction by uploading a photograph in accordance with the destruction instructions and filling out the recall form online. DR Power also said that consumers should recycle the lithium-ion batteries in accordance with local and state regulations.
