RoadFlex launches mobile app for fleet spend management
RoadFlex announced the availability of a mobile application for drivers, fleet managers and administrators on iOS and Android devices.
The application is designed to provide fleet teams with mobile access to fleet card activity, receipt capture, transaction reviews and spend management tools.
Fleet operations often take place across multiple jobsites, routes, departments and service locations, creating a need for drivers and supervisors to access fleet spending tools while away from a desk. Those activities can include fueling vehicles, purchasing approved operating supplies, resolving transaction issues and submitting documentation for financial review.
According to the company, the mobile application was developed to allow drivers and fleet personnel to complete those tasks from mobile devices.
“Fleet spend doesn’t happen behind a desk, but it happens at the pump, on the road, at jobsites, and across distributed field operations,” said Greg Soh, CTO & President of RoadFlex. “Our mobile app gives drivers and fleet managers easier access to the tools they need to manage card activity, submit receipts, and maintain visibility into spend in real time.”
The application allows drivers to access assigned cards, view recent transaction activity and upload receipts directly from mobile devices. The company said the process is intended to improve documentation and provide finance and operations teams with transaction records related to fleet purchases.
According to Greg, “One of the core features includes the fuel station finder which allows users to find the most affordable fuel station by fuel type within a X ( X = 2, 5, 10 or 25) miles radius through the Google API. The four step backend process involves geocoding, nearby search, pricing retrieval by fuel type, and map rendering.”
The application also provides fleet managers and administrators with access to transaction details, receipt tracking, exception alerts and other fleet activity information. RoadFlex said the platform is intended to support communication between drivers, supervisors and finance personnel.
The company said the application is designed specifically for fleet operations and connects drivers, vehicles, payment cards, receipts, policy controls and reporting tools through a single platform.
