Leadership changes announced at Bobcat, Hyundai

Bobcat and Hyundai Construction Equipment North America announced executive leadership changes, marking a transition at the top of both North American operations.

Bobcat Co. said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America Inc., will retire July 31 after nearly 30 years with the company. Scott Park, CEO and vice chairman of Doosan Bobcat Inc., will serve as interim president of the North America region until a successor is named.

Ballweber joined Bobcat in 1998 and became president in 2019. During his tenure, he helped expand the company’s dealer network and product portfolio while advancing manufacturing and innovation initiatives. He also guided the business through the COVID-19 pandemic and global supply chain disruptions.

Meanwhile, HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America promoted Mike Ross to president following the retirement of Stan Park, who had led the company since November 2021.

Ross joined Hyundai in 2020 as vice president of sales before being promoted to chief operating officer. He has 30 years of experience in the construction equipment industry and served six years in the U.S. Army after graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with a degree in economics. Since joining Hyundai, he has helped expand the dealer network, improve parts and product support operations, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration while helping guide the business through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Mike’s impact on this business has been significant—not just in the results he helped deliver, but in the way he led,” said Scott Park. “He brought a deep commitment to our employees, dealers and customers, and he helped position Bobcat for continued success. We are grateful for his leadership and lasting contributions and are confident in our continued momentum moving forward.”

“I’m sincerely grateful to have led this organization and worked alongside such talented colleagues, dealers and customers,” Ballweber said. “This is a bittersweet moment, as Bobcat has been such an important part of my life. My retirement comes with great pride in what we’ve accomplished together and with confidence in the strength of our team, our strategy and the future ahead.”

“Mike has demonstrated strong leadership and a genuine commitment to our dealers, customers, and employees,” said Jaeuk Kim, head of North America operations for HD Construction Equipment. “His operational expertise and ability to build cohesive teams have helped position Hyundai well for continued growth across North America. We are confident he is the right leader for this next chapter.”

Ballweber will remain with Bobcat through July 31 to assist with the leadership transition. At Hyundai, Ross will oversee business strategy, dealer network development, customer support operations, and the company’s business across the United States and Canada.
