Octane announces key sales leadership appointments

Octane Lending Inc., a fintech company providing financial products for retailers and consumers, announced two leadership appointments in its sales organization.

David Carlsen has been named senior vice president, sales and partnerships. He will lead a team of 25 sales professionals across Octane’s powersports and outdoor power equipment businesses.

Carlsen will focus on originations growth through Octane’s in-house lender, Roadrunner Financial Inc., by strengthening and expanding the company’s network of more than 4,000 dealer partners and 80 OEM brand partners.

Carlsen joined Octane in 2022 and has helped transform the dealership experience, introducing automations to streamline the financing process and driving team engagement and performance. Before joining Octane, he held senior roles at a major captive finance institution. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida State University.

Steve Daum has been named senior vice president, sales recreational lending and general manager of BRP Financial Services. He will lead Octane’s Captive-as-a-Service relationship with BRP and drive adoption of BRP Financial Services, BRP’s white-labeled financing program powered by Octane.

Daum will oversee a dedicated sales team focused on relationships across BRP’s network of independent U.S. dealerships to increase originations.

Daum joined Octane in 2022 as vice president of sales, became vice president of partnerships in 2024 and was named senior vice president of sales in 2025. During his tenure, Octane has grown its dealer network, signed new partnerships and expanded agreements with leading OEMs. Originations have grown more than 200%, and the company has increased its market share and entered new markets.

Before joining Octane, Daum held senior roles in the powersports industry, including vice president and chief sales officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Lourdes College.
