Hilltip launches IceStriker LION highway combination spreader
Hilltip has introduced the IceStriker LION 8-15 Highway Combi Spreader, a high-capacity truck-mounted spreader and sprayer designed for highway and municipal winter maintenance operations, as well as contractors handling large-scale projects.
The IceStriker LION is available with dry material capacities ranging from 8 to 15 cubic yards and includes liquid de-icing, anti-icing and pre-wetting capabilities. Standard lateral liquid tanks can be supplemented with up to four front-mounted tanks for additional capacity. An optional dual spray bar provides up to a 40-foot application width for de-icing.
The spreader is offered with either hydraulic or 24V/48V electric drive systems. Customers can choose between a 20-inch-wide chain conveyor or dual augers to deliver material to the spinner. A stainless-steel inverted-V is designed to reduce startup loads on the augers or conveyor, while a standard automatic vibrator promotes consistent material flow.
Additional features include 304 stainless-steel construction for corrosion resistance and an in-cab adjustment system that allows operators to fine-tune spreading symmetry without leaving the cab.
The IceStriker LION comes standard with Hilltip’s Strikesmart controller and HTrack tracking software, which provides two-way GPRS communication for remote monitoring, management and reporting. The system is compatible with existing central hydraulic systems installed on the chassis. An optional Strikesmart Plus controller paired with the TempStriker sensor monitors current and forecasted weather conditions and recommends material types and application rates based on real-time data.
The spreader is available with several options, including an end-of-material alarm system, flip-down ladder with handrails, leg stands with hook lift frame and a two-piece tarp mechanism.

The IceStriker LION is finished in high-visibility orange as standard and is also available in alternative colors for fleet customization.
