Marlon Products acquires DK2 and SnowBear brands
Marlon Recreational Products announced the acquisition of DK2 and its sub-brand, SnowBear. As part of the acquisition, both DK2 and SnowBear have been rebranded as DK2 by Marlon and SnowBear by Marlon, respectively.
Marlon Recreational Products, approaching its 50th anniversary, said this acquisition enhances its market position and expands its distribution footprint with distribution centers in Toledo, Ohio and Burlington, Ontario adding to the company’s existing locations in Alberta, British Columbia, Winnipeg, Washington, and California.
“We are thrilled to welcome DK2 and SnowBear, along with their talented team, into the Marlon family,” said Bruce Cameron, president of Marlon Recreational Products. “With the addition of two new distribution centers in Ontario and Ohio, we now have even greater resources to drive innovation, expand our product offerings, and continue providing exceptional service to our customers. Although our brands may appear separate externally, internally, we are united as one cohesive team, focused on advancing the future of the recreational and powersports industries.”
Marlon said this strategic acquisition marks Marlon’s expansion into the power equipment and snowplow market, further reinforcing its leadership in North America’s outdoor power equipment and recreational industries.
- Customers will benefit from improved service, a stronger supply chain, increased product availability, and continued commitment to quality under the Marlon umbrella.
- This acquisition allows Marlon to broaden its product range, particularly in power equipment categories such as woodchippers, log splitters, trenchers, and more.
- Dealers can look forward to greater supply chain efficiencies and a more focused brand strategy. DK2 equipment will now be supported by Marlon’s established infrastructure and experienced team.
- This move signals Marlon’s ambition to become a dominant force in the outdoor power equipment and utility gear market, strengthening its competitive position across North America.
While the DK2 and Marlon brand identities will remain distinct, all operations, systems, and company culture are now fully aligned under the Marlon Recreational Products umbrella. This integration ensures seamless collaboration, enhanced efficiency, and long-term, sustainable growth.
This acquisition does not include other brands previously owned by the private equity firm that owned DK2, such as WoodMaxx which DK2 had acquired in 2024 through Ronin funding from Ronin Equity Partners. In 2022, Ronin Equity Partners announced the creation of DK2 as a diversified manufacturer of small-to medium-scale outdoor power equipment and utility trailers by merging three firms, DK2 and SnowBear, based in Ontario, Canada and Currahee Trailers, headquartered in Mount Airy, Georgia.
