JCB introduces 250 and 290 skid steer loaders

JCB has introduced the 250 and 290 skid steer loaders, expanding its compact equipment lineup with two models designed for construction and landscaping applications. The machines are manufactured in Savannah, Georgia.

The 250 and 290 are powered by a 74-horsepower engine and are designed to accommodate a range of attachments for applications including loading trucks, moving pallets, grading, site cleanup and material handling. Both models feature JCB’s single-arm boom design and side-door entry.

“North American contractors continue to face labor shortages, making every employee and every piece of equipment more important than ever,” said Lee Tice, senior product manager – Compact Equipment, JCB North America. “The new 250 and 290 skid steer loaders are designed to help a single operator accomplish more throughout the day. Our industry-exclusive side-door entry eliminates the need to climb over buckets, pallet forks and other attachments every time operators enter or exit the machine. It’s a smarter design that improves productivity, enhances safety and helps operators keep work moving.”

The 250 has a rated operating capacity of approximately 2,531 pounds, while the 290 has a rated operating capacity of approximately 3,029 pounds. Both have hinge pin heights of more than 10 feet. The loaders are available with high-flow hydraulic options and are compatible with a range of skid steer attachments.

JCB said the machines are designed for use in residential, commercial and landscape applications, including work in confined areas where larger equipment may not fit.

The new models join JCB’s existing compact equipment lineup, which includes skid steer loaders, compact track loaders and telehandlers. The company also manufactures the Teleskid, a telescopic skid steer loader.
