Brodner Equipment to attend Dealer Forum in Orlando
Brodner Equipment, the 62-year-old, family-owned OPE dealership with New York locations in Rochester and Depew, is on board for the debut edition of the OPE Business Dealer Forum in Orlando. OPE dealership owners and managers will be gathering Nov. 14-16 at the Caribe Royale to get a leg up on 2023 business performance.
Brodner Equipment celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2019. Mike Brodner and Leo Baum, behind Brodner’s Hardware in North Chili, originally started the business in the late 1950s. At that time, gasoline powered lawnmowers were just becoming popular.
In the early 1960s, the hardware store was sold and Mike opened Mike Brodner’s Korner. This was a family operated grocery store and butcher shop located at the corner of Buffalo and Coldwater Road. At the time, Mike’s son-in-law, Leo Baum, started Brodner Mower. This business relocated to its present location at Lyell and Elmgrove Road in 1966.
In 1974, Tim Baum, Leo’s son, took over ownership of Brodner Mower. It continues to carry his grandfather’s name as Brodner Equipment Inc. The business has grown to 12 full-time and 4 part-time employees. Tim is joined by family members Rick Baum, Michael Baum, Betty (Baum) Nojeim, and Dave Nojeim. Jacki Bird serves as general manager of a staff that can boast over 150 years of total experience.
Brodner Equipment is the largest Honda Power Equipment and Exmark Commercial Mowing Equipment dealer in New York state.
But apparently there’s still plenty to learn, which is why Brodner will be joining like-minded independent servicing dealership operators next week in Orlando for peer-to-peer learning among dealers like the industry has never experienced.
With less than two weeks until the kickoff of the inaugural OPE Business Dealer Forum in Orlando, owners and staff representing independent servicing OPE dealerships in six different states have registered: Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
