Whisper Aero opens pre-orders for Tone T1 electric leaf blower
Whisper Aero announced that it has opened pre-orders for the Tone T1, an electric handheld leaf blower aimed at the outdoor power equipment market, during the Consumer Electronics Show.
The Tone T1 is the company’s first commercial OPE product and is powered by Whisper Aero’s UltraQuiet propulsion technology, which originated from aerospace research. The blower is being introduced under the company’s outdoor air management brand, Tone.
According to the company, the Tone T1 produces up to 880 cubic feet per minute of airflow and 25 newtons of blowing force. Whisper Aero said the blower operates at approximately 52 dB(A) at peak output, a level below many existing electric handheld models.
The product enters the market as regulatory pressure on gas-powered outdoor power equipment continues to increase. States including California and Colorado have adopted restrictions on new gas-powered lawn equipment sales, while municipalities, school districts and homeowners associations nationwide have implemented noise limits and usage restrictions.
“Whisper Aero was founded on a passion to achieve a quieter world, in the air and on the ground,” said Mark Moore, chief executive officer of Whisper Aero. “The Tone T1 leaf blower is the first product to use aerospace-grade technology derived from my years at NASA, where I pioneered electric aircraft. The T1 achieves breakthroughs not only in ultra-low noise but also with higher efficiency to provide longer battery runtime.”
Moore said the company views the product as part of a broader effort to apply aviation-derived engineering to ground-based equipment.

Whisper Aero Chief Operating Officer Ian Villa said the company focused on rethinking how air is moved in handheld equipment.
“Only by rethinking the core of how a blower moves air can a new class of quiet, capable tools rise to meet the expectations of modern communities,” Villa said. “Tone T1 is a solution that offers discreet operation while enhancing performance, serving both professional and residential needs.”
The Tone T1 includes a five-speed control dial, trigger lock, integrated LED work light and a removable 54-volt, 5.0 amp-hour lithium-ion battery. The company said the blower can operate for up to 50 minutes in its lowest power setting.
