Mustang develops automated end-of-line testing system for zero-turn mowers
Mustang Advanced Engineering has developed and implemented an automated end-of-line testing station for zero-turn mowers for a major outdoor power equipment manufacturer.
According to the company, the testing system was designed to address production and quality-control challenges as demand increased and product lines expanded. The manufacturer had relied on manual testing processes, which the company said created variability, increased the risk of operator error and slowed production at the end of the assembly line.
The automated system includes diagnostic testing, real-time data validation, production system integration and laser-based blade measurement technology. Mustang said the station was designed to integrate into existing production operations while providing repeatable testing results.
The company said the testing solution is intended to improve testing consistency, reduce downtime and support faster product release cycles. Mustang also said the system is designed to verify that each mower is tested before leaving the production line.
Mustang Advanced Engineering supplies custom-engineered testing and measurement systems for industrial applications worldwide.
