DR Power Equipment introduces XD17 stump grinder
DR Power Equipment, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems Inc., has introduced the XD17 stump grinder, a commercial-grade unit designed for routine use in stump removal.
The XD17 is powered by a 389cc Honda GX390 engine rated at 19.5 ft.-lbs. of torque and includes a dual-element air filter. The company said the unit is intended to handle demanding conditions associated with professional land clearing and property maintenance.
The grinder features a pivoting cutting head that swings up to 16.5 degrees in either direction from a central pivot point. A rubber discharge deflector directs wood chips away from the operator and work area.
A 17-inch grinding wheel constructed from half-inch steel is equipped with six tungsten-carbide-tipped 900 Series Greenteeth, which can be rotated to extend service life. The machine also includes adjustable handlebars with five height settings and a vertical position for storage and transport.
Controls are located on a centralized panel, and the unit includes onboard storage for tools and replacement teeth.
The XD17 is assembled in the United States and ships from the company’s Wisconsin facility. Pricing and availability were not disclosed.
