OTR expands SolidBoss skid-loader tire lineup with new size

OTR Engineered Solutions has expanded its SolidBoss smooth skid-loader tire lineup with a new 31×10-20 (10-16.5) tire assembly designed for hard-surface applications.

The new size is intended for skid steers operating in environments such as demolition sites, recycling facilities, scrap yards and waste handling operations, where punctures and tire damage can contribute to equipment downtime.

According to the company, the semi-pneumatic SolidBoss tire is designed to eliminate flats while using cushioning apertures to absorb shock during operation. The smooth tread is intended for use on abrasive surfaces, including asphalt and concrete.

“The addition of the 31×10-20 size allows us to accommodate an even wider range of skid steers,” said Steve Jensen, vice president of national accounts at OTR Engineered Solutions. “Customers have consistently asked for more flat-free options in this size category, and we’re excited to bring the proven durability and ride quality of SolidBoss smooth tires to even more machines and applications.”

The company said the tire uses proprietary rubber compounds designed to resist chunking, tearing and slicing in severe-duty environments. OTR said the design is intended to extend service life, reduce maintenance requirements and increase machine uptime.

The new assembly features an 8-on-8-inch bolt pattern and is available through OTR’s distribution network and online.

OTR Engineered Solutions manufactures off-the-road tires, wheels and track systems for original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket. The company serves construction, lawn and garden, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and specialty vehicle markets through facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
