ECHO opens national training center for outdoor power equipment technicians
ECHO Incorporated has opened a new training facility in McHenry, Illinois, focused on hands-on technical education for outdoor power equipment and industrial power equipment service technicians.
The 6,025-square-foot ECHO National Training Center will provide training for technicians within the company’s dealer and distributor network. According to the company, the facility combines web-based pre-learning, classroom instruction and hands-on training related to ECHO’s industrial power equipment and outdoor power equipment product lines.
“The equipment our dealers service today is more sophisticated than ever — and the expectations of the end customer have risen with it,” said Fernando Iacona, vice president of corporate development and product service at ECHO Inc. “With more than 6,000 independent ECHO dealers across North America, technicians that can diagnosis and service with speed and accuracy are a business imperative. This center gives professionals in our network the product knowledge and hands-on practice they need to reduce machine downtime, increase productivity and build lasting customer confidence in ECHO equipment.”
According to ECHO, the training center was developed in collaboration with service technicians and is designed around small class sizes with no more than 12 participants per session. The curriculum includes classroom instruction followed by guided shop activities, troubleshooting exercises and practical equipment training.
ECHO said the courses are structured around multiple levels of technical training, allowing technicians to build skills progressively across equipment platforms. Participants who complete coursework will receive a certificate recognizing technical competency.
